Summary
The Educational Services Manager provides leadership and management for all aspects of the Education Services Department including business development and client relationships; effective contract fulfillment and quality assurance; human resources planning, development and supervision; administrative and budgetary management and control.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Responsible for planning and operations of Education Services functions. Working with direct reports, selects staff, including substitutes, from candidate pool provided by Human Resources by participating in final interview and notifying Human Resources of selection. Working with direct reports, places and matches staff with students based upon student needs. Ensures new employees receive in-depth program orientation; assesses needs and environment to ensure training and development of staff to meet current and future needs. Responsible for risk management functions for department, including implementation of Easter Seals’ safety program, ensuring employees are trained and supervised in relation to safety and incident-reporting procedures; ensures a non-discriminatory workplace and prompt reporting to Human Resources of any incidents or complaints that may put Easter Seals at risk. Personally or through designee, assures there is updated information concerning CPR, TB, and DMV requirements, assisting Human Resources with staff to keep information current and in compliance with all contract stipulations and legal requirements. Participates in preparation and reviews staff evaluations and requirements, determining merit raises. Manages student emergency situations, documenting incidents. Contracts with and coordinates independent contractor assignments. Troubleshoots with District employees and Easter Seals staff to resolve challenges and conflicts. Ensures preparation and submission of all required reports and records to state and local agencies in a timely manner. Develops and submits demographic records of program’s students to the Chief Operating Officer for NES reports. Negotiates and manages contracts for services and staff. Personally or through designee, attends student IEP meetings & school staff meetings representing Easter Seals Central California. Responsible for new business development including building strong client relationships in current contracting districts and expanding field to service to new districts. Researches, develops and proposes new educational service programs for review and approval by the Chief Operating Officer; implements approved programs. Develops and submits an annual budget proposal to the Chief Operating Officer; manages annual program budget to achieve ESCC budgetary goals including authorized hours of service. Participates in task groups as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer. Provides information and referral for students, families and other agencies as needed. Serves as advocate and community liaison for students, upholding student rights and assuring that grievance procedures are utilized. Advises and supports the development and implementation of new parent support groups that pertain to the educational needs of children with the approval of the Chief Operating Officer. Keeps up-to-date on recent research, current trends and developments in special education and related fields. Maintains current knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and procedures related to programs and services for special education students, monitoring program(s) to ensure compliance with standards and regulations required for certification. Maintains confidentiality, knowing and respecting the rights of the students and families we serve.
Education And/Or Experience
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in education, management, human resources, psychology, social work, behavior analysis, or related field; minimum of three (3) to five (5) years demonstrated ability in supervisory/administrative capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience. One (1) to two (2) years experience in the field of education, working with individuals with special needs, is preferred.

Responsibilities
Provides behavioral intervention services to special education students in a classroom or home setting. The primary role is to implement and monitor behavior support/intervention plan, which will enable the student to meet his/her educational goals as stated in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP). The technician will be trained in the specific behavior intervention techniques required by the plan, by a behavior specialist, psychologist, or a special education teacher assigned by the school district, and may work independently without direct supervision while implementing the plan.

Summary

We are looking for a Play & Language for Autistic Youngsters (P.L. A. Y.) Tutor to work with children with Autism or at risk for Autism in their home using a DIR/PL.A.Y. based model. Great training and fun work.
Summary
Working under the direction of a P.L.A.Y. Project Home Consultant (PPHC), the P.L.A.Y. Tutor will assist professionals and parents in utilizing the DIR (Developmental, Individual-Difference, Relationship Based) model with a child under 9 years of age challenged by Autism spectrum and/or related disorders. Within the DIR model, the Tutor will utilize the developmental treatment approach called "floortime", which provides a comprehensive framework for working with children challenged by autism spectrum and related disorders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. The Tutor will work under the direction of a P.L.A.Y. Project Home Consultant (PPHC) in implementing the treatment plan developed by the PPHC. Works independently with each assigned child in their home, hospital, or other assigned location on a regularly scheduled basis; up to 10 hours per week; no more than 2 hours per day. Using the DIR as a model of interaction, the Tutor will focus on helping children master the building blocks of relating, communicating and thinking, rather than on symptoms alone. Accompanies PPHC on monthly home visits of child to guide and instruct family and/or primary care-providers on methods of the P.L.A.Y. project. In agreement of scheduled hours each week with child and parent, supports parents in PLAYing with children in an intensive intervention. Assists the PPHC in the home visits with videotaping of child’s behavior and interactions. The Tutor may participate with the PPHC in video reviews of the child. Assures that Easter Seals Safety Program and security procedures are carefully observed to reduce work-related injuries. Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines, reporting potentially unsafe conditions. Uses equipment and materials properly. Seek and use innovative and effective teaching techniques and specialized equipment in conjunction with the D.I.R. model. Use appropriate instructional materials, which would benefit the child's attainment of social, communicative and behavioral goals. Provides feedback to the PPHC and family on interactions with the child. However, does not offer treatment suggestions to the family. Select and secure appropriate instructional materials and equipment. Maintain accurate student records, including progress and attendance. Reports to be submitted on a timely and confidential basis to the PPHC. Is responsible in maintaining own schedule. Will schedule visits with the family in advance and is reliable in keeping schedule and commitments, including arriving at the family home or location on time. Maintain confidentiality. Promote development of positive self-esteem and feeling of success in child. Maintain current knowledge of Federal, State and local regulations and procedures related to programs and special education students. Continue to keep current on recent research, current trends and developments in special education and related fields. Consider opportunities for independent learning regarding Autism and other disabilities.
